Fire Wise - Part One - On Alert

I don't live in the forest but rather in the high desert.  The forest is close enough for me to have been on alert for evacuation because of a forest fire that was 4 miles away.  That would be 4 miles as a crow flies.  Each year our fire department supplies the community with great materials to remind us of how important it is to be prepared and to do all we can to prevent a disaster on our own property.
I will share some of these in the next several weeks.  There's a lot and it is all worth reading.  The following information comes from many government agencies and delivered to us in a small newspaper.  Altho prevention is so important, I will start with "When A Wildfire Approaches", because it, in many ways, is what you need to know right now.

Always call your local fire department first thing and
STAY  CALM
