If you have children you know that you are going to be digging foreign objects out of your drains, often if you have one of those really curious or clumsy kids.
I will not say that kids are the only ones who drop things down the drains. Rings slide off when washing dishes or while washing hair. And hair is going to clog the drain of anyone who has not gone with the extreme shaved head look. Just what we want to spend a small fortune with that oh so lovely plumber.
I found this amazing cure for many of the issues above.
I purchased my first one at a Home Depot. Then I found this double pack at a Dollar Tree. Yep, instead of paying $ 3.49 for one, I got two for $ 1.00. Now I have one in every drain in my home. Sort of like preventative medicine for the plumbing.
There is one use that you may not have thought of. And maybe most of you don't have a concern with. Keeping things down the drain. Yep - keep the unwanted little critters down the drain instead of in your tub or sink. Where I live, we have septic tanks, and an abundance of scorpions. And they love to come up the drains in the warmer months. Now I don't have to keep a plug in the drains, this screen works perfect. Also, I know of people who occasionally have issues with sewer roaches. This is the answer while your local sanitation department get the problem under control.
Final hint - if you use one of these -
you can clean these screens out and occasionally place them in your dishwasher for a real good cleaning.
