More Halloween Super Snacks

These would be super treats for Halloween.  Mostly because they are super cute.  And super easy.  And because any super person would love them. Schools pass their financial troubles off onto every parent and that means coming up with holiday snacks and treats that are affordable and fun for the kids.  Check out some of the latest treats that I have found.

With the use of a muffin top pan, these little cake treats are pretty simple and cute as can be.  If you want to add a variety, add a little green grass and a jack-o-lantern or pumpkin.  A couple of star shapes and bats would be super cute also.

Witch hats are easy and cute.  And a treat that I had never seen until this year.  Where was my creative side?  I should have come up with this one the year Keebler came out with those cute cookies that are striped with chocolate on one side and solid chocolate on the other side.  And that is the base for these hats.  From there, you just need candy kisses and orange frosting.  You kids at home or the students in the classroom can do this one with little or no assistance.

 What kid doesn't like the rice crispy treat?  What adult doesn't like them too.?

Takes very little to see how to make these.  This is your basic crispy treat recipe with a bit of orange food coloring or, if you are lucky, you will find the marshmallows that are already orange in color.  The stem is a mini tootsie roll.  The leaf and vine piece is made of fondant.  If you do not have the fondant available, you can make ta couple of  leafs from frosting and don't worry about the vine.  Still cute and delicious. 

Have you been making the spider cupcakes with the licorice legs and mini cupcakes or muffins?  This is similar but different.  And we all need to be a little different at times.  With this design, you can frost a cupcake with chocolate frosting or just make a chocolate cupcake, not use frosting at all, and have a dessert with a little less sugar and a lot less messy.  The legs are simply added with a tube of frosting and eyes, if your spider wants to have vision, can be simple little red hots.  One more thing here - if your spider will be more appealing with a head, you can use a gum drop (black licorice might be good) or a piece of tootsie roll. Again, this is simple for adults and kids alike.

Really want to do something simple and completely healthy?  These cute brooms are so simple.  Make string cheese into strips, attach to the end of a pretzel with some chives, and you are done.  Agree?  Cute, good tasting and good for ya.

This one is a bit more complex.  Not to be confused with difficult.  Start with a graham cracker frosted with basic chocolate frosting.  You can use the pre-made frosting but you may want to thicken it up a bit with powder sugar or corn starch.  The tree is made with chocolate or licorice flavored Twizzler sticks, tied with a piece of thread.  I keep trying to think of a way to use an edible string, but not quite sure what would be good.  Got an idea?  Please share.  To secure the tree, use a small clump of fondant. Then just add your pumpkin candy and candy corn around the outer edge.

Here's for what makes these treats SUPER !  All of these items can be made free of nut allergens.  I know that anyone who is worried about the nuts, already know what is available out there. Keebler are making the Fudge Stripe cookies in a nut free factory. Watch for the Hershey Kisses - only the plain ones are boasting the nut free label. Even Wilton coloring is nut free.

Isn't it great to be able to offer our kids with nut allergies some fun treats?  Love them!
