Gearing Up For The Holiday Projects

No time like the present to start with those holiday projects for the kids.  You know that all parents and grandparent love to get a little gift that comes directly from the kids.  Check this one out and tell me that you don't hope that you receive one under your tree.
This would even be a simple project for the class room.
Let me make a couple of suggestions for the paint and seal.
A basic acrylic paint is water based and adheres will to the clay.  And the clean up is easy as long as you do it right away.  I would still advise that you use aprons for the kids and the adults if you are concerned with the mess. And for a sealant - the Mod Podge glossy glue/sealant is simple and has an easy clean up; and is priced right for your projects.

So there you have a simple and inexpensive project to start out your holiday season.

One more little goody to think about.  Again, something that any grandparent would love to display on their mantle.  A special print of their favorite child.  And simple.
Check out this one.
When I first saw this it was shown as a Christmas card.  That's a great idea but a nice little print on a good grade paper would make a great keepsake.

As far as paints - I would suggest a non toxic poster paint.  It will wash off easily, is harmless and inexpensive.  Paper - I would suggest a nice linen paper with minimal texture.  You don't want the paint to distort from too much texture in the paper.

From there you could frame or make into a nice poster board card.  Either way it will be a great gift.  And think about this.  You could do a border print.  Like a series of foot prints for the entire family.  I just don't see any reason that this would be only for babies.  If I come up with a photo of this, I will share at a later date.

Stay tuned for more fun projects.  I am sure there will be more you will enjoy.
